As the new school year gets underway, the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) has issued a message to parents who post their children's back-to-school photos online. Using the hashtag #PauseBeforeYouPost, the DPC said that children's personal information can be unintentionally over-shared and suggested that parents should be cautious, check whether there is any information about the child in the background of the photo, inform the child of the privacy risks and limit the audience of the account to 'close friends'.

The ICO has published guidance for employers on the processing of workers' health data. The guidance covers topics such as keeping sickness and injury records, occupational health schemes, medical examinations and drags and alcohol testing, genetic testing, health monitoring and sharing workers' health information.

With its updated privacy policy, X will now collect users' biometric data and data such as employment, education and job search. The privacy policy states that biometric data may be collected for security and identification purposes in accordance with users' consent, while data such as employment, education and job search may be collected to recommend potential jobs to users.

The Turkish Personal Data Protection Board raised the annual financial balance sheet total requirement for exemption from the obligation to register with the Data Controllers Registry from 25 million Turkish Liras to 100 million Turkish Liras.
