The UNIDROIT Model Law on Factoring (MLF) was adopted in May 2023. The MLF provides a complete, self-standing legal regime that facilitates factoring transactions. The instrument comprises of a set of black-letter law rules that is primarily aimed at States that have not yet fully implemented a modern, comprehensive secured transactions legal framework.

To aid in the promotion and implementation of the MLF, UNIDROIT authorises qualified stakeholders in different jurisdictions to facilitate the preparation of unofficial translations in additional languages. In this regard, UNIDROIT has authorised the Turkish Association of Financial Institutions (FKB) to prepare a Turkish translation of the Model Law on Factoring.

This consultation event will provide an opportunity for government officials, financing companies, legal professionals and academics in Türkiye to learn more about the Model Law on Factoring, and discuss how its rules and concepts are being translated into Turkish.
